Rite aid foundation makes $100,000 in donations to help victims of
tornadoes in alabama and tennessee
Camp hill, pa.--(business wire)--rite aid (nyse: rad) announced today that the rite aid foundation is making a $50,000 donation to the american red cross to help the victims, families and communities affected by the tornado devastation in alabama and tennessee. the donation will be directed to the american red cross chapters in tuscaloosa and huntsville, al and chattanooga, tn. to further assist those in need, the rite aid foundation is also donating $50,000 of supplies including water and snacks, batteries, flashlights, first aid products, diapers, baby formula and cleaning supplies. “our hearts go out to the victims, families and communities affected by these devastating tornadoes,” said mary sammons, president of the rite aid foundation. “one of rite aid’s core values is to be caring neighbors in the communities we serve and we are proud to partner with the american red cross and assist them in their mission of helping those most affected by the tornadoes in alabama and tennessee.” the rite aid foundation, founded in july 2001 is a not-for-profit foundation dedicated to helping people in the communities rite aid serves. since its inception, the rite aid foundation has awarded grants totaling more than $11 million to approximately 820 organizations in 488 communities. for more information on the rite aid foundation, visit www.riteaid.com.
