Ge appoints two company officers

Fairfield, conn.--(business wire)--ge today announces the appointment of two new company officers. ge currently has 194 ge officers globally. ge officers lead large revenue generating businesses or are in critical functional roles, helping to drive growth. below are details on ge’s two new officers: anne m. mcentee, 40, has been appointed vice president of dresser for ge energy services, a business within ge energy. in this role, anne will be responsible for developing and executing a growth strategy to position the division, which was recently acquired by ge, for future growth. the business segment designs and manufactures pressure and control valves, and measurement, regulation and control solutions. the 13-year ge veteran has worked and advanced through a series of increasingly responsible assignments in quality, manufacturing/operations and sourcing within ge energy. prior to her current role, anne was the general manager of power services for ge energy services, where she led the division’s global growth and expansion into india, middle east, africa and eastern europe. she has also held the role of general manager for ge energy’s quality organization where she was responsible for managing and deploying ge energy’s quality strategy, including six sigma with a strong emphasis on lean methodology. anne holds a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics, a master’s degree in mathematics, and a ph.d. in applied mathematics, each from rensselaer polytechnic institute in troy, ny. bill ruh, 49, has been appointed vice president and global technology director for the software sciences & analytics organization at ge global research effective february 28. in this newly created leadership role, ruh will develop ge’s r&d capabilities in areas such as advanced computing, computational intelligence, analytics and pervasive decisioning systems. ruh joins ge with more than 25 years of software and services experience. most recently, ruh was vice president of the solutions technology group at cisco systems. in this role, he was responsible for developing software-based services and solutions in intelligent automation, healthcare, smart+connected communities, education, transportation and sports & entertainment. previously, ruh was senior vice president and chief technology officer for software ag, incorporated where he was responsible for all aspects of the solutions and services business unit. he also has held roles with the advisory board, the mitre corporation and ibm. ruh earned his master’s degree and bachelor’s degree, both in computer science from the california state university, fullerton. about ge ge (nyse: ge) is a diversified infrastructure, finance and media company taking on the world’s toughest challenges. from aircraft engines and power generation to financial services, medical imaging, and television programming. ge operates in more than 100 countries and employs about 300,000 people worldwide. for more information, visit the company’s web site at www.ge.com.
