safety designation
Fort smith, ark.--(business wire)--cintas corporation (nasdaq: ctas) today announced that its manufacturing location in fort smith, ar. received voluntary protection program (vpp) star certification from arkansas occupational safety and health administration (iosha). vpp star is osha’s highest recognition for the practice of and commitment to exemplary occupational safety and health. “this award, the highest award in the vpp system, would not have been achieved without the full safety engagement of all of our fort smith employee-partners. world class safety only happens when it’s embraced by everyone,” stated phillip holloman, president & coo. “passionately engaged employee-partners taking full responsibility for the safety and well-being of each other is the critical ingredient to achieving the vpp star and our safety vision.” the fort smith location, which employs 50 people, is the 29th cintas facility in the united states to receive vpp star designation since 2011. the location began its journey toward vpp designation a few years ago and has been injury free for 5 years. the designation required monthly, rigorous audits and the close collaboration between management and employee-partners to achieve full engagement to continuous safety improvement. “i’m very proud to be a part of this team and without the dedication of our employee-partners, we couldn’t have done this,” said cliff clifton, plant manager of the fort smith manufacturing location. “there are many good business reasons for the safety journey we're on but none are more important than the people we go home to everyday.” cintas corporation has approximately 330 facilities throughout the world actively pursuing vpp recognition by osha or the equivalent under a similar certifying body. this includes operations in the u.s., canada, mexico and honduras. for more information about cintas safety, please visit http://www.cintascsr.com/safety.php about cintas corporation: headquartered in cincinnati, oh., cintas corporation provides highly specialized services to businesses of all types primarily throughout north america. cintas designs, manufactures and implements corporate identity uniform programs, and provides entrance mats, restroom supplies, first aid, safety and fire protection products and services. cintas is a publicly held company traded over the nasdaq global select market under the symbol ctas and is a component of the standard & poor’s 500 index.
