First-ever on-road cat® trucks are going on tour

Tullamarine, victoria--(business wire)--the first-ever cat® on-road trucks are now traveling the highways of australia. the new cat® ct610 and cat® ct630 trucks will visit australia’s major transport hubs during the cat trucks national road show 2011, which will start in western australia from 21 january and move east stopping at cat dealers till late march 2011. the trucks, which are the only cat® engine trucks available in the marketplace, were first launched in australia, are built in australia, and are manufactured to australian customers’ exacting specifications. “this exciting tour is designed to give cat® trucks’ many australian fans the chance to see these powerful vehicles close up,” said jeff tyzack, general manager of sales and marketing in australia for nc2 global llc. members of the cat® dealer network who will be hosting each leg of the tour include: westrac wa – 21 january-25 january cavpower – 29 january-5 february william adams – 7 february-19 february westrac nsw – 19 february-12 march hastings deering – 14 march-31 march “all throughout the tour, local cat® dealers will make things easy for customers by offering an open-day opportunity to examine the vehicles, tour their facilities and be able to ask questions about the new cat truck models,” tyzack said. “customers can be confident that if they purchase a truck, their local cat dealer will look after them through sales, parts and service.” representatives of cat finance will also be in attendance offering competitive finance rates, tyzack added. tyzack provided an overview of the new cat® trucks, which are both conventional prime movers and are available in day-cab and extended-cab options: the cat® ct610 has a gross vehicle mass (gvm) of 24.5 tonne and a gross combination mass (gcm) of up to 57 tonne. it is powered by the cat c13 engine, which is rated at 470 hp at 2100 rpm and 1,650 ft-lb at 1,200 rpm. the cat® ct630 also has a gvm of 24.5 tonne, and provides a gcm of 72 tonne, with an optional 90 tonne rating. it is powered by the cat c15 engine, which is rated at 550 hp at 1,800 rpm and 1,850 ft-lb at 1,200 rpm. “even before these trucks launched in november, they generated a high level of excitement among cat’s strong following in australia,” tyzack concluded. “we look forward to giving customers an opportunity to check out these powerful new vehicles for themselves.” for more event information or for a calendar of dates, visit www.cattrucks.com.au for further details or contact your nearest cat dealer. about nc2 global llc nc2 global llc is a 50/50 joint venture between caterpillar inc.
