Lisle, ill.--(business wire)--the board of directors of nc2 global, llc, the global 50/50 commercial truck joint venture between caterpillar (nyse: cat) and navistar (nyse: nav), named phil christman president of nc2 effective immediately. al saltiel, who served as president of nc2 since july 2009, will be returning to navistar as chief marketing officer. christman began his career with navistar in 1986 and grew through a series of leadership roles, including vice president of engineering, delivering the current international® high performance vehicle platform in 2001. he most recently served as navistar’s president, global truck operations and a key member of the nc2 board of directors. “phil christman is the ideal choice to build on nc2’s record of progress,” said doug oberhelman, caterpillar’s chairman and chief executive and chairman of the nc2 board of representatives. “phil has been with nc2 from the beginning, having served as a key member of its board. he also has extensive experience leading navistar’s global truck operations and targeting vehicles for appropriate customers and markets around the world.” nc2 is now operating in priority markets including australia, brasil and south africa, and has established a product portfolio, dealer distribution network and manufacturing base in each market. “i’m looking forward to leveraging the strengths that both navistar and caterpillar offer the global truck industry in order to take nc2 to the next level,” christman said. “we’ll tap into our network of local resources to identify and deliver the right mix of international and cat products and support to every market we serve.” about nc2 global llc nc2 global llc is a 50/50 joint venture between caterpillar (nyse: cat) and navistar, inc.
