Cal-maine foods, inc. names new vice president of operations
Jackson, miss.--(business wire)--cal-maine foods, inc. (nasdaq: calm) announced today that michael ermon has been promoted to vice president of operations. this appointment was approved by the company’s board of directors on december 23, 2015. ermon will have responsibility for cal-maine foods’ production and processing facilities located in farwell and pittsburg, texas, and chase, kansas. he also serves as the company’s representative on the operations committee for the red river valley egg farm joint venture, also located in texas. he will report directly to sherman miller, chief operating officer of cal-maine foods. ermon has been employed with cal-maine foods since 2004. he most recently served as operations director of the company’s operations in farwell and pittsburg, texas. previously, he was general manager in farwell, and he also held the same position in greensburg, louisiana. ermon graduated from louisiana state university in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in animal science. “we are pleased to announce this promotion for michael ermon, who has been a dedicated employee of cal-maine foods for over eleven years,” said dolph baker, chairman, president and chief executive officer of cal-maine foods, inc. “michael is already very familiar with our operations and customers in texas, and he has clearly demonstrated his leadership capabilities in managing our day-to-day operations. we are proud to have michael as a member of our management team, and we look forward to his leadership in texas and kansas as we continue to pursue our growth strategy.” cal-maine foods, inc. is primarily engaged in the production, grading, packing and sale of fresh shell eggs, including conventional, cage-free, organic and nutritionally-enhanced eggs. the company, which is headquartered in jackson, mississippi, currently is the largest producer and distributor of fresh shell eggs in the united states and sells the majority of its shell eggs in states across the southwestern, southeastern, mid-western and mid-atlantic regions of the united states.
