TopBuild Reports Better Than Expected Q4 Results

TopBuild Corp. (NYSE:BLD) reported its Q4 result, with EPS of $3.12 coming in better than the Street estimate of $2.92. Revenue was $1.1 billion, beating the Street estimate of $1.02 billion.

Despite accelerating inflationary trends (particularly in fiberglass), the company saw sequential pricing improvements across both TruTeam and Service Partners during the quarter. Despite broader fears around a rising interest rate environment, management continues to remain positive on the housing market.

Analysts at Berenberg Bank noted that there is still plenty of “catch-up” work remaining for the company given the elevated level of builder backlogs and the number of uncompleted U.S. homes. This underpins the analysts’ confidence in the resilience of the company’s demand profile over the next few years, especially when coupled with growth in commercial/industrial, which is still in the early stages of recovery.
