Bae systems appoints brian sheridan vice president & general manager for spectal business

Arlington, va.--(business wire)--bae systems announced today that vice president and deputy general manager for the intelligence & security sector, brian sheridan, will lead the spectal business area in reston, virginia. spectal, formerly a part of l-1 intelligence services group, provides u.s. government customers with specialized security and intelligence consulting, including intelligence analysis, engineering, operations support, training and information technology development. sheridan has a 25 year career in both the private sector and government service. prior to joining bae systems in 2010, sheridan spent almost ten years with the bechtel corporation where he managed large, complex projects. he previously served as the assistant secretary of defense for special operations and low intensity conflict (solic) during the 1990’s. he started his career in federal service working for the central intelligence agency in the 1980’s. in february 2011, bae systems acquired two businesses of former l-1 intelligence service group, spectal/mcclendon and aci, to expand capabilities to better meet the dynamic and changing security and intelligence needs of u.s. government customers. the business focuses on four key customer missions – intelligence and counterintelligence, homeland security, law enforcement and support to military operations.
