American software reports preliminary first quarter of fiscal year 2015 results

(nasdaq: amswa) today reported preliminary financial results for the first quarter of fiscal 2015. the company has delivered 54 consecutive quarters of profitability. key first quarter financial metrics: total revenues for the quarter ended july 31, 2014 were $24.9 million, an increase of 7% over the comparable period last year. software license fee revenues for the quarter ended july 31, 2014 were $4.4 million, an increase of 36% compared to the same period last year. services and other revenues for the quarter ended july 31, 2014 decreased 2% to $11.0 million compared to $11.2 million for the same period last year. maintenance revenues for the quarter ended july 31, 2014 were $9.5 million compared to $8.9 million, an increase of 7% over the same period last year. operating earnings for the quarter ended july 31, 2014 were $2.2 million, a decrease of 9% compared to the same period last year. gaap net earnings for the quarter ended july 31, 2014 were $1.5 million or $0.05 per fully diluted share, a decrease of 4% compared to the same period last year. adjusted net earnings for the quarter ended july 31, 2014, which excludes stock-based compensation expense, amortization of acquisition-related intangibles and the net loss of midretail, were $2.0 million or $0.07 per fully diluted share compared to $1.9 million or $0.07 per fully diluted share for the same period last year, which excluded stock-based compensation expense and amortization of acquisition-related intangibles. adjusted ebitda increased 5% to $4.0 million for the quarter ended july 31, 2014 compared to $3.8 million for the quarter ended july 31, 2013. adjusted ebitda represents gaap net earnings adjusted for amortization of intangibles, depreciation, interest income & other, net, income
