Analog devices’ dual 14-bit a/d converter reduces power and size in communications, instrumentation, test and measurement applications

Norwood, mass.--(business wire)--analog devices, inc. (adi), the data converter market share leader* and a data conversion and signal processing technology innovator for more than 47 years, today introduced a two-channel, high-performance 14-bit, 125-msps a/d converter that reduces total power consumption by 22 percent over competing solutions. in addition to delivering high speed and wide dynamic range at lower power, the cost-effective and functionally flexible ad9645 a/d converter is available in a 5-mm × 5-mm package, which represents a 30 percent space savings over the nearest competitor. the new converter meets the performance and size requirements of the latest 3g and 4g multi-standard cellular infrastructure equipment, such as cdma2000, wb-cdma, lte, td-scdma and multi-carrier gsm. other key applications include battery-powered, hand-held instruments, scopes and portable medical devices. the dual ad9645 a/d converter consumes only 122 mw/channel at 125 msps (mega samples per second) and features excellent sfdr (spurious-free dynamic range) performance of 91 dbc at 70 mhz. with an if sampling range of up to of 200 mhz, the device is designed for use in multi-mode digital receiver architectures. a pin-compatible dual 12-bit version, the ad9635, is also available, enabling an easy migration path between 12-bit and 14-bit converters with sampling rates from 20 msps to 125 msps. download data sheets and order samples: ad9645 14-bit dual a/d converter http://www.analog.com/ad9645 ad9635 12-bit dual a/d converter http://www.analog.com/ad9635 ad9645 14-bit dual a/d converter http://www.analog.com/ad9645 ad9635 12-bit dual a/d converter http://www.analog.com/ad9635 the ad9645 dual a/d converter features a multi-stage, differential pipelined architecture with integrated output-error-correction logic. the ad9645 is available in a 32-lead rohs-compliant lfcsp and is specified over the industrial temperature range of –40°c to +85°c. the dual a/d converter features a space-saving serial 1.8-v lvds digital output with two lanes per channel. ad9645 14-bit high-speed a/d converter key features: snr = 74.3 dbfs at fin up to nyquist input frequency; 125 msps sampling rate enob of 12 at fin up to nyquist input frequency sfdr = 91 dbc at fin = 70 mhz excellent dc linearity: dnl = ±0.65 lsb typical inl = ±1.5 lsb typical dnl = ±0.65 lsb typical inl = ±1.5 lsb typical pricing, availability, and complementary products sampleavailability fullproduction sample rates(msps) price each in1,000 quantities ad9645 dual 14-bit now now 80 $27.99 5 mm × 5 mm ad9635 dual 12-bit 80 $18.69 5 mm × 5 mm recommended driver amplifiers for the ad9645 for differential rf/if inputs, the ultra low distortion adl5562 diff amplifier for dc-coupled inputs, the ada4927-2 or the ada4938-2 a/d converter drivers recommended clock drivers for the ad9645 for low jitter performance, the ad9510, ad9511, ad9512, ad9513, ad9514, ad9515, family of clock distribution solutions for additional support, connect with engineers and adi product experts on engineerzone™, an online technical support community: http://ez.analog.com/community/data_converters/high-speed_adcs about analog devices innovation, performance, and excellence are the cultural pillars on which analog devices has built one of the longest standing, highest growth companies within the technology sector. acknowledged industry-wide as the world leader in data conversion and signal conditioning technology, analog devices serves over 60,000 customers, representing virtually all types of electronic equipment. analog devices is headquartered in norwood, massachusetts, with design and manufacturing facilities throughout the world. analog devices is included in the s&p 500 index. http://www.analog.com. *analog devices, inc. leads the worldwide data converter market with a 48.5 percent share, according to industry analyst firm databeans, inc. in its market research report titled “2012 analog.” analog devices’ share is larger than the combined market share of the nearest eight competitors. to subscribe to adi's news feed http://www.analog.com/en/homepage/news.xml follow adi on twitter at http://www.twitter.com/adi_news subscribe to analog dialogue, adi’s monthly technical journal, at: http://www.analog.com/library/analogdialogue/ photos/multimedia gallery available: http://www.businesswire.com/cgi-bin/mmg.cgi?eid=50334139&lang=en
