It doesn't take long to look around our world and see the influence heroes have. From box offices, to sports stadiums, real or fictional, in different cultures, heroes are everywhere. Throughout the world and time, heroes are men and women to cheer for as they fight for justice, sacrifice their lives for others, help people in need, and occasionally stop the world from being destroyed by a snap of a finger. Hebrews 11, which is sometimes referred to as the "Hall of Fame of Faith” highlights many of the heroes of the Bible, including Jacob. But the problem you quickly face is the deeper you dig into Jacob's life, the less you're impressed with him. So what if the people in Bible aren't just heroes to imitate, but people to walk with on their own journey of faith? That’s my invitation to you as we walk through the life of Jacob, and see his life transformed by the grace of God.
